About the
Artist
Kathleen Youngquist was born in Hollywood,
CA, to her father a Walt Disney animator and her
mother a librarian. She has exhibited her work
throughout the United States.
Ms. Youngquist's work has been featured in several
solo shows and
juried group shows, including "SF Museum of Modern
Art, Represented in Artists Gallery, San Francisco,
CA; Art International, A Fine Art Fair, Pasadena
Center, Pasadena, CA; "SVMA Biennial 2007", Sonoma
Valley Museum of Art, Sonoma, CA; "California Small
Works 2001," Sonoma Museum of Visual Art, Santa
Rosa, California, Juror Kenneth Baker; "Gallery
Route One Year 2000," Point Reyes Station,
California, Juror Marian Parmenter; "Light is
Diverse in California," Center for Visual Art,
Oakland California, Juror Enrique Chagoya, 1998;
"California Small Works," California Museum of Art,
Santa Rosa, California, Juror Phil Linhares, 1996.
Ms. Younquist was the recipient of an Individual
Artist Achievement Grant from the City of San
Antonio, Texas Department of Cultural affairs in
1993.
Ms. Younquist attended the University of Texas at
San Antonio and received an MFA in 1990.
